Using ExtMoney
- How do I create an account?
- Sign up with your email, then click the confirmation link we send you to activate your account. When you finish setting up, you can turn on a free 14-day trial of the premium features — no card, nothing to cancel.
- How do I add a transaction?
- Open Transactions and press the + button. Choose income, expense or transfer, pick an account, enter the amount and, optionally, a category and note. Your balances update instantly.
- Can I share with my family or team?
- Yes. Invite people by email from Team settings and give each member a role (viewer, editor, admin or owner). Shared and family budgets all live in one team.
- How do voice and receipt entry work?
- On paid plans you can dictate a transaction or photograph a receipt and let AI prepare a draft. Nothing is saved until you review and confirm it. These features are off until you grant consent, and recordings are deleted right after processing.
- How is a “large” transaction decided?
- The large-transaction alert is based on your own habits, not a fixed number: we compare each payment to your usual spending and notify you when one stands out as unusually big. Tiny amounts and your regular payments (rent, subscriptions and the like) never trigger it, and there is a daily limit so you are never spammed. While we are still learning your history we fall back to a simple rule — anything at or above about 1000 in your base currency. Separately, the “Largest expenses” blocks on the dashboard and in reports are not alerts — they simply list your biggest expenses by size (top 5 recently, top 50 in a report).
- Can I export my data?
- Yes. From Settings you can download all of your data — accounts, transactions, plans and goals — in a portable format at any time, free of charge.
- How do I delete my account?
- In Settings, under account deletion. It takes two confirmations because deletion is permanent and irreversible: your account and all data in the teams you own are erased for good.

- How is my data secured?
- TLS 1.3 in transit, AES-256 at rest. Daily backups to a separate region. Two-factor authentication. No telemetry.
- Is there a free trial?
- Yes — 14 days of premium, free and with no card. The team owner turns it on with one click (right in the onboarding wizard, or later in Settings → Plan). When it ends the team simply returns to the Free plan: nothing is charged and there is nothing to cancel. One trial per account.
- What other sources can I import from?
- CSV exports from Mint, YNAB, Monarch, Copilot, Simplifi and more — with visual field mapping — plus YNAB budgets directly and bank statements in OFX/QFX, CAMT.053 and MT940.
- Is there a mobile app?
- Native iOS and Android apps are on the way. Today the web app is fully responsive and installs as a PWA, with the same features.
- Is the price different in the mobile app?
- No — pricing is identical on the web and in the App Store and Google Play apps. No store markup.
- What happens if I cancel?
- Your data is exportable for 90 days. Full deletion on request, or automatic after 180 days.
